Product testing. Bringing the receipts     July 2024JB

Versatile Data Logging Options with the Synergy Nano Controller

Product testing is all about verification. Verifying the design, verification of intended operation in
production, verification of compatibility with intended environments.

Verification of having met thermal testing requirements often involves bringing receipts in one
form or another. The powerful Synergy Nano temperature controller/logger can easily facilitate
proof of having met thermal testing requirements, by a number of different, convenient methods.

Here is a short list of eight popular ways that the Synergy Nano temperature controller can make it easier to ‘show the receipts’ of thermal testing work.

1) Recording and logging of one or more device temperature sensors.

Configurable text log files are an easy, flexible way to preserve and review test data.

2)   Export of logging data by USB drive or network connection, to be charted in Excel or other graphing application

There are many ways to format the data and put it into your own custom plot with MS Excel.

Here is an outline of some good methods for plotting in MS Excel.

3)   Controller on screen graph of temperature profile history which can also be displayed
remotely on a networked computer using the WebTouch Remote browser app.

With the push of a button, you can get a configurable-in-advance, quick snapshot of the recent history. The below App note shows how to bring this graphical report or other interactive screens of the Synergy Nano onto a local web browser.

4)   Webchart Functionality allows temperature controller to show dynamic charting from the Synergy controller to log/plot data files in a computer browser.

This powerful feature allows graphing of test results onto a local web browser. More detailed, powerful and easily configurable than the graphing from the controller front panel.

5)   Optional Network Plotting Feature that allows printing results graph directly to a networked printer.

Flexible configurable graphical reporting of test data to a local network printer or PDF.

7)   Transfer files with FTP capability to communicate testing results from Synergy controllers to a host PC.

Transfer data such as test results, System Profiles or ‘recipes’ and controller backup to locations on local network with this powerful functionality.
